When new offers break old reconciliations

Catalogue launches are a predictable stress test for any revenue assurance audit app. Treat the first week as a controlled experiment.

Team meeting in a modern office

New offers change rating inputs, bundling logic, and sometimes mediation tags. Old reconciliations that compared “usage versus billed” for a simple prepaid product will mis-fire when that product gains add-ons mid-cycle.

Day-one checks

  • Confirm the offer identifiers the app expects match the catalogue export
  • Compare exception volume against the prior four launch weeks, not against a quiet baseline
  • Isolate one known-good subscriber journey and trace it end to end

Resist the mute button

Suppressing alert families to “stop the noise” hides learning. Prefer temporary higher sample on the new offer family, with a sunset date for the elevated effort.

Bring product to the table

Assurance cannot decode intent alone. A thirty-minute walkthrough with the offer owner prevents a week of guessing why a promotional waiver looks like leakage.
